Maple Glazed Black Pepper Bacon

Ingredients

  • 8 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Place a baking rack on a sheet pan and arrange the bacon in 1 layer on the baking rack.
  2. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until the bacon begins to brown. Remove the pan carefully from the oven, since there's hot bacon grease in the pan!
  3. Brush the bacon slices with maple syrup and sprinkle with black pepper (as much or as little as you like). Bake for another 3 to 5 minutes, until the maple syrup is bubbling and the bacon is nicely browned.
  4. Transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels and serve warm.
