These crispy chicken wings are a football season staple in my house, and you can toss them with any number of tangy sauces, including buffalo, barbeque, hoisin, or any number of fancy sauces you can come up with. Buffalo is my personal favorite, I’m a bit of a purist, what can I say? You can feel good about serving these to friends and family since there’s no frying involved! Let’s make some wings!
Why You Should Air Fry Your Wings Instead Of Frying
Once I found out how delicious and easy it was to make wings in your oven, I’ve never looked back! Air-fried wings are:
- Healthier- without the deep frying, you get wings that are lower in fat and total calories!
- Crispy- I’ve got tips to help you ensure you still get that nice crispy chicken wing texture.
- Easy prep – just a 5 minute prep time is all you need!
How To Make Crispy Chicken Wings In The Airfryer
Baking powder! Yes you read that right. Baking powder is the secret to making super-crispy wings in the oven. Not baking soda/bicarbonate! You must use baking powder, it usually comes in a can, unlike baking soda, which usually comes in a cardboard box.
How To Make Chicken Wings In The Air Fryer
Season the wings with baking powder, salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder. Place the wings into your air fryer basket, or if you have an oven with a convection or air fryer setting, you can put the wings onto a baking rack, and place the baking rack onto a baking sheet lined with foil.
Air fry the wings at 400 degrees F for 35-45 minutes or until crunchy, flipping occasionally to promote even cooking.
Place the wings into a bowl, and pour the sauce over them. Toss thoroughly to coat.
